Calligraphy Flourishing Workshop

Expand your calligraphy skills at this new workshop. Join Athena and learn how to create swirling, embellished borders around your copperplate calligraphy. This workshop is specifically for those that are already familiar with using a pointed, flexible nib and want to make it look even more spectacular. At the end of the workshop, you'll choose a word to create a fabulous flourished artwork. 

Taught by resident calligraphy enthusiast and Meticulous Ink owner Athena, this workshop is suited to those who have already completed our Beginner Copperplate Calligraphy workshop, as well as those that have dabbled in modern calligraphy. You'll get to expand your skills and confidence to make beautifully flourished borders.

Throughout the 2.5 hour session, you'll receive plenty of guidance and dedicated attention from Athena, where she'll give lots of advice and tips to help make your calligraphy shine.

Each student will receive:

• 1 x Wooden nib holder
• 1 x Flexible copperplate nib
• 1 x Pot of Meticulous Iron Gall Ink
• 1 x Meticulous Ink embellishment guide sheet
• 3 x Historic reference sheets
• 1 x underline sheet

All equipment will be provided, along with guidance from Athena.

When: Saturday 22nd November, 10.00am to 12.30pm

Please note - some previous calligraphy experience is essential for this workshop, either from our Beginner Copperplate Calligraphy or other flexible nib / modern calligraphy.

Is there an age limit for the workshop?
Anyone can attend our workshops, though unfortunately we do not allow children under 12. Those under 16 we do request are accompanied by an adult. Please do get in touch if you'd like to discuss.

What should I bring?
You don't need anything - we'll provide everything you need for this workshop.

What are my transport/parking options getting to you?
There is parking in Bath in several locations - the nearest to us would be the Podium car park or the Cattlemarket car park. Train services to Bath Spa are very regular and the walk to Walcot Chapel takes around 25 minutes.

Cancellation Terms
Please ensure you can attend the workshop before booking. If you are ill, shipwrecked, or unable to attend for any other reason, we are unable to swap your date, though you are more than welcome to find a friend that can take your place.

In the rare circumstance we are unable to run the workshop, your ticket will be swapped for store credit.
