Join Athena, owner of Meticulous Ink, for our opening talk.
With a background in screen printing, Athena started Meticulous Ink in 2010 using three credit cards, a business loan, and her life savings. The brand now has a six-figure turnover, producing their own stationery line in-house on two monstrous 1960s Original Heidelberg Windmill printing presses, as well as a multitude of print projects for private clients.
As well as telling the story of how Meticulous Ink came to be, Athena will be talking about the highs and lows of running a physical shop, the importance of having a positive outlook, and how to deal with constant change in a creative business. There will be a Q&A with Athena after the talk.
Is there an age limit for the talk?
Anyone can attend our talks, though we think you'll get the most out of it if you have a keen interest in Meticulous Ink or starting a creative business. Do bear in mind that Athena does occassionally swear. Those under 16 we do request are accompanied by an adult. Please do get in touch if you'd like to discuss.
What should I bring?
You don't need anything - we'll provide some simple refreshments and a seat. We encourage questions so you are welcome to bring any with you.
What are my transport/parking options getting to you?
There is parking in Bath in several locations - the nearest to us would be the Podium car park or the Cattlemarket car park. Train services to Bath Spa are very regular and the walk to Walcot Chapel takes around 25 minutes.
Please ensure you can attend the talk before booking, as tickets for the On Paper Festival are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you are ill, shipwrecked, or unable to attend for any other reason, I’m afraid we are unable to swap your date, though you are more than welcome to find a friend that can take your place.
In the rare circumstance we are unable to run the talk your ticket will be valid to book onto another talk or to use in store.
