In this workshop you'll get hands on creating your own utterly unique marbled papers.
Florence, the founder of Inq, will guide you through the fundamentals of paper marbling - just as it has been practiced for centuries. A historically secretive craft, you will be shown the magic behind the mysteries!
Each student will learn at their own marbling tray and will produce at least 5 designs in their chose colour palette. You'll be amazed by what you can produce on your first attempts. No artistic experience is necessary - just an appreciation of colour, pattern, and paper.
All equipment will be provided as well as aprons, though you may still get a little splattered.
Warning: Marbling is highly addictive!
When: Thursday 27th June 2019, 10.00am to 12.00pm
Where: Walcot Chapel - just around the corner from our shop at 134 Walcot Street, Bath.
Is there an age limit for the workshop?
Anyone can attend our workshops, though unfortunately we do not allow children under 12. Those under 16 we do request are accompanied by an adult. Please do get in touch if you'd like to discuss.
What should I bring?
You don't need anything - we'll provide everything you need for using in the workshop, and you'll get to keep your marbled papers. Marbling can get messy, so we'd recommend wearing dark colours and clothing you are not precious about.
What are my transport/parking options getting to you?
There is parking in Bath in several locations - the nearest to us would be the Podium car park or the Cattlemarket car park. Train services to Bath Spa are very regular and the walk to Walcot Chapel takes around 25 minutes.
Please ensure you can attend the workshop before booking, as tickets for the On Paper Festival are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you are ill, shipwrecked, or unable to attend for any other reason, I’m afraid we are unable to swap your date, though you are more than welcome to find a friend that can take your place.
In the rare circumstance we are unable to run the workshop your ticket will be valid to book onto another workshop.
