Brush Lettering Workshop - Thursday 29th June 2023 10.00am to 12.30pm

Join us for the On Paper Festival Brush Lettering workshop. In this accessible and creative workshop, you'll learn the art of brush lettering, creating your own personalised bookmark with matching tassel of your choice.

Claire will introduce you to the fundamental techniques of brush lettering and guide you through the alphabet, helping you find your own voice within this casual, modern style. As we walk through the individual letters, you'll also be shown how to connect your letterforms, the basics of letterspacing and how to vary your letters.

We'll be using one of our favourite brush pens, the wonderful Tombow Fudenosuke soft tip and you'll also have the chance to try an array of brush pens with different flexibilities and colours.

Using your new skill, you'll then be offered a selection of coloured card to create your own personalised bookmark, with your choice of tassel to complement your lettering.

Each student will receive:

• 2 x Tombow brush pens (1 Fudenosuke Soft Tip + 1 ABT Dual)
  
• 3 x Meticulous Ink guidesheets
• 5 x Meticulous Ink brush lettering practice sheets
• 1 x Plain paper sheet
• Your choice of bookmark card, complete with eyelet and tassel of your choice!

All equipment will be provided, along with guidance from Claire.

Where: Walcot Chapel - just around the corner from our shop at 134 Walcot Street, Bath.

Is there an age limit for the workshop?
Anyone can attend our workshops, though unfortunately we do not allow children under 12. Those under 16 we do request are accompanied by an adult. Please do get in touch if you'd like to discuss.

What should I bring?
You don't need anything - we'll provide everything you need for this workshop.

What are my transport/parking options getting to you?
There is parking in Bath in several locations - the nearest to us would be the Podium car park or the Cattlemarket car park. Train services to Bath Spa are very regular and the walk to Walcot Chapel takes around 25 minutes.

Cancellation Terms
Please ensure you can attend the workshop before booking, as tickets for the On Paper Festival are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you are ill, shipwrecked, or unable to attend for any other reason, we are unable to swap your date, though you are more than welcome to find a friend that can take your place.

In the rare circumstance we are unable to run the workshop, your ticket will be swapped for store credit.
